How I removed Spymaxx

1st off Spymaxx is a rouge antivirus software that takes over your computer,adds a icon to your tray and can disable your Taskmanager (you cannot kill process, you can find information on How to enable your taskmanager ) It masquerades as a good virus removal software …its not.It trys in various ways to get you to download their infected software.

My computer was popping up ads and Lord only knows how many if any sex emails were being spit out.I would turn my dsl connection on for only a few minutes to google up more website to try and find a fix, and then spent the next 1-4 hours reading and trying all the PC geeks fixes.Alot of websites were making statements like” try this fix this but it could destroy your PC.” 80% contain the exact same information that was not only out dated,but not very user friendly .I was in a real mess.

Other symptoms

If you are getting pop ups that state your computer is infected, being scanner,or some is trying to infect it you may very well have the spymaxx virus.The pop ups are a page that contain advertisements for Spymaxx and Antivirus2008 both are fraudulent anti spyware.

Too many virus removal software promises

When I started searching for how to remove spymaxx,it seems everyone is advertising that they have the fix.They dont.I have downloaded several anti virus softwares and bought two, only to find out most just wants your money.Some big name brand spyware remover companys were the same …only promises.

The fix

After countless hours (apx 1 week of several hours per day) of trying toi remove this I can across a couple of websites that were not the norm.These guys were not just posting the same old empty boastful stuff,they were making statements that I had not read before.This is what I found:

Two spyware scanner /remover types. 1 was free (a 15 day trial) the other I paid for $29.95

The Free one was CounterSpy
if you want to buy it (and you should) A Single Computer Only $19.95

The $29.95 one was SpyZookait comes with the 100% spyware removal guarantee.You send them a scan result and they adjust the removal process accordingly in the next update.

I suggest tying the free one (as I know most of us will), then if that does not remove all,then get spyzooka

after running both reboot,then enabled your taskmanager (if you dont know how see above link)
